If imperfections in the appearance of your teeth are getting you down, consider dental veneers. Perfect your smile with the beauty of porcelain.
What Are Dental Veneers?
Veneers are thin sheets of porcelain, custom-made to match the shade of your natural teeth, which are bonded to the surface of your tooth, creating a uniform appearance and dramatically improving the look of your teeth. Veneers can alter the color, shape, size, or length of your original teeth.
Our porcelain veneers resist stains better than other materials, and closely mimic the look of natural enamel. Dental veneers can fix a variety of problems including:
Chips, cracks, or fractures
Uneven, misaligned, misshapen teeth
Small gaps between teeth
First, the surface of the tooth is prepped by removing a fraction of the enamel equal to the thickness of the veneer. We will place a temporary on your tooth while the laboratory is fabricating your veneer. After the veneer arrives from the laboratory (approximately one to two weeks), your dentist will permanently bond the porcelain to the prepped tooth using cement. We expertly fit each veneer individually, which may require trimming and readjustment. Once bonded, your dentist will use a special light to set the cement and help it to cure quickly.
In as little as two visits, you can have a dramatically different smile; one you’ll be proud to show off!
Another option for certain patients is minimal-prep veneers, which are similar to traditional porcelain veneers but require less preparation of the tooth surface before bonding. Because there’s less modification of your natural enamel, often patients who receive minimal-prep veneers don’t need numbing agents, making recovery time quicker. Ask us if you are a candidate for this non-invasive and less costly treatment.
